What I Do
I’ve been told that i have a branding problem. I don’t really disagree; i do a few different types of gigs…
When people want to hire me to play for their events, I’ve always struggled to explain that I do different types of performances. I hope this helps.
Solo - Footdrum, guitar, vocals, harmonicas
This is the configuration I use most when I’m booked as a solo performer these days. I play a 9 pedal Farmer Footdrum while I sing and play guitar. It’s a full band sound that can fit in a small space and be background music, or can be the focal point of your event and get the entire dance floor rocking.
Solo Acoustic
Just me with an acoustic guitar and vocals. I do solo acoustic/vocal stuff mostly for cocktail hours and events where drums would be over powering (Cocktail hours at weddings and smaller clubs).
Solo Instrumental Guitar
I’m doing these instrumental without vocals types of gigs more and more these days. I wouldn’t call it “classical” guitar, but I play nylon string guitar and play familiar tunes. People seem to like it and it forces me to grow as a musician- it’s tough to hold down 3 hrs of instrumental guitar playing but I’m working hard on this type of music.
Jazz Duo (trio)
Oooh, so jazzy. Looking for classy background music for your event? I play instrumental jazz guitar with my friend Don Caverly (or Matt Seymour) on upright bass.
Side Man
Have guitar, will travel. If you have a road gig and you need a pro sideman- I may be your guy. Send me a message and let’s see if we can make it work for both of us. I’ve been very fortunate to work with ATP here locally and work with world class, veteran Broadway performers in shows such as Queen, Boogie Nights, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Queens of Country, and the annual Yuletide Affair show.
Also- If you wanna check out my favorite show of all time, here’s a full video from our Queen Theater Show from 2021. Rock and roll baby…
